Why a document-first desk matters for Greece

Under Law 5275/2026 the Greek authorities have a 90-day target for complete applications. The word that matters is complete. Missing attestations, expired police certificates or mismatched names between passport and contract are the usual reasons files sit idle. Greece's 2026 seasonal rules, step by step

Law 5275/2026 tightened seasonal recruitment of third-country workers. Employers now pre-register seasonal positions, provide proof of accommodation and submit return-travel guarantees before a visa is issued. Fines for employing a worker without a valid permit have also increased. Our Islamabad desk checks each of these before we shortlist anyone for a Greek role.

• Tourism seasonal permit (E-6): up to nine months in any twelve-month period. The holder must leave Greece for three months in each twelve-month period. The fee is EUR 75 (Greek Ministry of Migration and Asylum, mitos.gov.gr).
• Contract: a seasonal contract signed by a Greek employer and the worker. Pay must not be lower than an unskilled worker's wage (legal summary of the law).
• Social security: the worker is registered with EFKA on or before the first day of work (legal summary of the law).

Confirm before you recruit that the role is open to third-country nationals under current labour-market needs, as published by the Ministry of Labour.

Two seasonal routes exist: the tourism permit and the agricultural-economy permit, both under the E-6 seasonal residence permit. Each needs a national seasonal-work visa and a seasonal contract with a Greek employer before the residence permit is issued (mitos.gov.gr).
