Why testing matters more for welders than any other trade
A weak helper costs you time. A weak welder costs you rework, failed inspections and, in pressure or structural work, real risk. European employers who hire successfully from Pakistan treat the welding test as the centre of the hiring process, not a formality at the end.
Start with a precise brief
Tell your agency exactly what the job needs. “Welder” is not a specification. A useful brief states:
- Process: MMA/SMAW (111), MAG/GMAW (135), flux-cored (136) or TIG/GTAW (141).
- Material: carbon steel, stainless, aluminium; plate or pipe; thickness and diameter range.
- Position: for example PA/PB for flat and horizontal work, PF vertical-up, or H-L045 (6G) for pipe.
- Standard: the qualification your projects require, typically EN ISO 9606-1 for steel.
- Fabrication skills: reading drawings, fit-up, measuring, grinding, cutting.
The test itself
We arrange a practical test to your brief at a workshop in Pakistan, recorded on video from set-up to finished coupon. For qualification-grade hiring, the coupon can be tested and certified by an independent inspection body against EN ISO 9606, with visual inspection and bend or radiographic testing as the standard requires. Employers can also join the test remotely by video call and choose the coupons themselves.
Documents to check
- Passport and identity, consistent spelling across all documents.
- Trade certificates from recognised technical bodies, plus any existing ISO qualification certificates with their validity.
- Experience letters that name the process and the type of work, not just the job title.
- Police character certificate and medical fitness.
Common pitfalls
- Testing in an easy position when the job needs vertical or pipe welding.
- Accepting old certificates without a fresh practical test.
- Forgetting fit-up and drawing reading: a good welder who cannot fit up slows the whole crew.
- Hiring helpers as welders to save cost, then paying for it in rework.
From test to arrival
Once you approve the test results, we prepare the work-permit documents for your country, handle visa preparation and emigration formalities in Pakistan, and deploy the group on a date that suits your project. Welders arrive knowing exactly which process and position they were hired for.
Next step
Send your welding brief — process, material, position, standard and headcount. We will propose a test plan and timeline, and quote to your budget.

Can Pakistani welders be certified to EN ISO 9606?
Yes. Welders can be tested and certified in Pakistan by independent inspection bodies against EN ISO 9606, provided the test matches the process, material and position your work requires.
Can the employer watch the welding test?
Yes. Employers can join the test remotely by video call, choose the coupons, and receive the full recording.
Which welding processes can Pakistani welders cover?
